Privacy
Last updated 13 October 2026
CueLevel doesn’t collect your personal data. There’s no account, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. Your audio and video stay on your Mac.
Who we are
CueLevel is made by Chugs (“we”, “us”). We are responsible for the CueLevel app and for cuelevel.com. Questions about privacy go to hello@cuelevel.com.
The CueLevel app
Your files
CueLevel measures and levels your audio and video files entirely on your Mac. Files, recordings, file names and measurements are never uploaded or sent to us or anyone else.
What stays on your Mac
CueLevel keeps its settings, your current cue list and its reference measurements in your Mac user account (in ~/Library/Application Support/CueLevel and CueLevel’s preferences). Deleting the app and that folder removes them.
Update checks
When automatic updates are on, CueLevel checks for a new version when it opens and every few hours while it’s open. It downloads one small public file, appcast.json, from GitHub (raw.githubusercontent.com). The request carries only your app version (“CueLevel/2.0.1”) and the information every internet request carries, such as your IP address. If you choose to install an update, the new version is downloaded from GitHub too.
We don’t receive these requests or any information about them. GitHub handles them under the GitHub Privacy Statement. You can turn automatic checks off in About CueLevel with Check for updates automatically.
This website
- No cookies, no analytics, no tracking. The site stores nothing in your browser and runs no third-party scripts. Its fonts, images and video are served from cuelevel.com itself.
- Hosting. cuelevel.com is hosted on GitHub Pages, and its domain name is managed by Cloudflare. Like any web host, GitHub may log your IP address and browser details to run and secure the service; see the GitHub Privacy Statement. We don’t have access to visitor logs.
- Download button. To always offer the newest version, the page reads the same public
appcast.jsonfrom GitHub, and the download itself comes from GitHub’s release servers.
When you email us
If you write to hello@cuelevel.com, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use them only to reply to you, and we delete them on request. Mail to cuelevel.com is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to a mailbox we use with Google, so those providers process it in transit and in storage.
What we don’t do
We don’t sell, rent or share personal information, and we don’t use it for advertising or profiling. We don’t knowingly collect information from children, and CueLevel isn’t directed at children under 13.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU and UK, or the CCPA in California), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, and to object to its use. Since we only hold emails you’ve sent us, the simplest way is to write to hello@cuelevel.com. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Changes
If CueLevel ever starts collecting anything new, we’ll update this page before it ships and change the date at the top.
